When to use it
When a Brother passes, record his Date of Death on his member profile. He then appears on this page, and you can print a one-page Resolution of Condolences to read and present at the next council meeting. Use it any time you need to reprint a resolution or review years of service for a deceased member.
Step by step
- Open the member's profile (Roster → Members, then the member). In the KoC History & Membership section, set the Date of Death and save. This also surfaces a bereavement banner on the profile.
- Go to Brotherhood → In Memoriam.
- Find the brother in the table — it shows name, member number, the date he entered Eternal Rest, and computed years of service.
- Click Resolution in his row to open/print the Resolution of Condolences PDF (opens in a new tab).
Tips & gotchas
- Members only appear here once a Date of Death is set; the empty state explains exactly where to set it.
- Years of service are computed from the member's 1st Degree date (or join date) to the date of death.
- Resolution wording is a respectful KoC-style default. To use your council's standard wording, override the template in Settings — only do this if your council always uses specific language.
- The Resolution print button is available to writer roles (FS / GK / DGK); read-only/impersonation views won't show it.
