When to use it
Set this for any member who would rather hear from the council in Spanish. Once the preference is Spanish, you don't have to do anything special at send time — every dues notice (1st Notice, 2nd Notice, Knight Alert, Intent to Retain) and other member-facing email goes out in Spanish for that member, while everyone else keeps getting English.
Step by step
- Open Roster → Members and click into the member.
- Open the profile editor and find the Preferences section.
- Set Language Preference to Spanish (the choices are English and Spanish).
- Save. The member's profile will show a "Spanish · Notices send in Spanish" badge confirming it's active.
- That's it — future notices for this member route to Spanish automatically. No separate Spanish send button exists; the language follows the member.
Tips & gotchas
- The preference is per member, not council-wide — only members marked Spanish get Spanish copy.
- Spanish notices use the platform's generic Spanish templates. If your council has customized its English notice copy, that customization is not mirrored into Spanish yet — Spanish members receive the standard Spanish default.
- Imported members may carry a legacy free-text language value (e.g. "French"). Anything that isn't clearly English or Spanish is shown for transparency but is treated as English for sending.
- The Spanish setting also applies to surveys and payment receipts, not just dues notices.
