Fellow Safe Environment Coordinator — the short version
You keep the council compliant and its young people safe. This is a compliance role as much as a program one — and it's not optional where minors are involved.
What the role does
The Safe Environment Coordinator ensures all officers and volunteers complete required safe environment training, maintains training records, coordinates renewals, and liaises with diocesan safe environment requirements.
- Required training — Make sure every officer and volunteer who works with minors completes safe environment training.
- Records — Keep training certificates and background-check status current and on file.
- Renewals — Track expirations and chase renewals before they lapse.
- Diocesan liaison — Align the council with your diocese's safe environment program and reporting.
Where it shows up in DuesSync
Your Grand Knight (or FS) assigns this role on Programs → Program Directors, and the assignment flows straight onto Form #365 (the Service Program Personnel Report).
For the big picture — how all of these roles fit together — see Program Director, the role that coordinates the whole slate.
Source notes. Duties follow the Knights of Columbus Faith in Action program framework, Form #365 (Service Program Personnel Report), and the Grand Knight Handbook (#915). Program names are the Order's current flagship programs and vary by council and year. Send feedback if anything's off.
