Fellow Special Olympics Coordinator — the short version

You lead the council's support for Special Olympics — a cause woven into the Order's history. You report to the Community Director and Program Director.

What the role does

The Special Olympics Coordinator coordinates council volunteers and fundraising in support of Special Olympics athletes, organizes participation in local events, and tracks volunteer hours contributed by members throughout the year.

  • Volunteer at events — Staff local Special Olympics games — timing, escorting, hospitality, cheering.
  • Fundraising — Run council fundraisers that send dollars to your state Special Olympics program.
  • Recruit members — Get Brothers and their families out to the events.
  • Track hours — Log volunteer hours for Form #365 and Columbian Award credit.

Where it shows up in DuesSync

Your Grand Knight (or FS) assigns this role on Programs → Program Directors, and the assignment flows straight onto Form #365 (the Service Program Personnel Report).

For the big picture — how all of these roles fit together — see Program Director, the role that coordinates the whole slate.

Source notes. Duties follow the Knights of Columbus Faith in Action program framework, Form #365 (Service Program Personnel Report), and the Grand Knight Handbook (#915). Program names are the Order's current flagship programs and vary by council and year. Send feedback if anything's off.
