When to use it
There's nothing to turn on — this happens automatically after you send an officer invitation. It exists so a busy Brother who lets the invite sit in his inbox gets a gentle follow-up instead of falling through the cracks. Check Invitation History when you want to see how an invite is progressing.
Step by step
- Send an invitation as usual from Settings → Users & Roles (see "Invite Your Officer Team").
- If the officer hasn't accepted, DuesSync sends a reminder email roughly every 24 hours, up to 3 reminders total. Each reminder carries a fresh setup link (the prior one expires after 24 hours) and is labeled "Reminder 1/2/3."
- Reminders stop automatically once the officer accepts — or, if their email is bouncing, they're skipped silently.
- When an invite either hits the 3-reminder cap or passes its 15-day expiry without being accepted, DuesSync emails you (the FS) once, suggesting next steps: ask the officer directly, double-check the address for typos, or revoke and re-send.
- Open Invitation History any time to see live status (Pending / Accepted / Expired) and days remaining, and use Resend Invite to start fresh if needed.
Tips & gotchas
- The auto-reminders and the FS heads-up are fully automatic — you don't schedule or trigger them.
- Reminders skip any address already known to be bouncing (matched against a council member with that email), so a dead inbox won't keep getting hit.
- The FS notification fires once per invite and won't repeat — so a single unanswered invite won't spam you.
- If the officer set up their account through a slightly different path, a reminder run can detect the existing login and quietly mark the invite accepted.
- These reminders are separate from "Send access link" — that's a manual button for officers who've already accepted but need to log back in.
